We already refine the gold.
Liorvae Gold is run by Liorvae Jewellers (Pty) Ltd, a licensed refiner and fabricator in Gauteng. This is not a startup that decided to sell gold. It is a metals business selling smaller pieces of what it already handles.
01
Where the gold comes from
We buy second hand jewellery and scrap, assay it, and refine it. We also buy from other refiners. That is the ordinary business, and it is why we can sell below a reference price rather than above it: our cost is not the retail market's cost.
It is also why we can strike a round for you. The plant is ours.
02
Why that matters to you
Most places selling gold online are a shopfront in front of somebody else's vault. When you ask them a question about the metal, they have to ask someone.
We hold a Precious Metals Refining Licence from the SADPMR, number AP23598, we do the assay, and we account in fine gold because that is the unit the trade actually works in. If you ask what backs your grams, the answer is metal we bought, in a place we control, recorded against a lot number.
03
What we have not done yet
We have not appointed a custodian, an insurer or an auditor, and no independent attestation of holdings exists. We are not saying otherwise. When those are in place they will be named here, with dates, and you will be able to check them.
The same goes for the customer agreement, which is with our lawyers. A gold business that is vague about this is telling you something.
